With the advent of automation and artificial intelligence, jobs are becoming increasingly demanding, and employees are experiencing higher levels of stress due to the pressure to perform and meet expectations. This research paper aims to explore the impact of job stress on counterproductive work behavior (CWB) among employees in the financial sector of Pakistan. Specifically, this study will examine how job stress factors such as workload, lack of autonomy, and poor communication affect CWB and its consequences for organizations. Background Counterproductive work behavior refers to any action taken by an employee that harms or undermines the organization they work for. This can include sabotage, absenteeism, and low productivity. CWB has become a major challenge for organizations, as it not only affects the performance of individuals but also the overall success of the company. Previous studies have shown that job stress is a significant predictor of CWB, but there is limited research on this topic in the context of the Pakistani financial sector.
