The 2019-2020 school year is underway, and I am excited to be teaching 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Lincoln Middle School. This is my 14th year of teaching, and I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. In Language Arts, we will be exploring a variety of texts, including novels, short stories, and informational articles. We will also be practicing writing and speaking skills through regular journaling, essays, and class discussions. Our main focus this year will be on building strong reading and writing skills, as well as developing critical thinking and analysis abilities. In Social Studies, we will be studying World History, focusing on ancient civilizations such as Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. We will also explore American History, from the early colonies to modern day. Throughout the year, we will be using primary sources, videos, and interactive activities to learn about these historical events and figures.
