Interfaces and Features in Second Language Acquisition: A Study on the Acquisition of Chinese Negation by English Speakers and Korean Speakers Introduction: In an ever-evolving technological world, it is essential to understand the process of technology evolution and its impact on human survival and unity. This book delves into the acquisition of Chinese negation by English speakers and Korean speakers, providing valuable insights into the interface hypothesis and feature reassembly hypothesis. The study focuses on the factors that contribute to the variability in second language (L2) acquisition at the interfaces involved with Chinese negative structures, including L1 influence, quantity input frequency, and quality of target input consistency and regularity. Additionally, the study explores the role of task modality in L2 learners' access to explicit and implicit knowledge about Chinese negation. Theoretical Framework: The study is grounded in the interface hypothesis and the feature reassembly hypothesis, which posits that L2 learners rely on their existing linguistic knowledge to acquire new grammatical structures. The interface hypothesis suggests that L2 learners' acquisition of a new structure is influenced by the similarity between the target language and their native language. The feature reassembly hypothesis proposes that L2 learners reassemble features from their native language to form new grammatical structures. Methodology: The study employed both elicited experimental data and authentic learner corpus data to investigate the acquisition of Chinese negation by L2 learners.
